24MM FILM ACADEMY
24MM Film Academy was founded by ace cinematographer Sridhar G, with a vision to bridge the gap between a learning academy and the industry. 24MM aims to provide practical, hands-on training and aid ongoing professional development in cinematography, to both aspiring and professional cinematographers.
Our flagship Shadow the Cinematographer program ensures a real time understanding of the complete cinematographic process - from script to screen. Guided industry exposure, potential opportunities to network and inspiration sessions from industry professionals form the core DNA of 24MM.
FOUNDER AND CHIEF MENTOR
With over 15 years of experience in the Tamil film industry, Sridhar has built a reputation as one of the promising DOPs in the regional film fraternity. His seminal work - the internationally acclaimed Pariyerum Perumal, produced by PA Ranjith under the Neelam Productions banner, was officially selected for the Indian Panorama section at IFFI Goa 2018 and won multiple awards.
A graduate from Adyar Film Institute, Sridhar has always been fascinated by cinema and the creative process of filmmaking. He started out in 2008, assisting Cinematographer Ramji of Paruthiveeran fame, on films such as Mayakkam Enna and Irandam Ulagam, in addition to several ad films. While Sridhar was working on Selvaraghavan’s films, the director noticed his passion for cinema, and offered him his first opportunity as a full-fledged DOP on Malai Nerathu Mayakkam – a film written by Selvaraghavan himself.
Sridhar is passionate about imparting the knowledge of cinematography he has acquired over the years, to the next generation of aspiring filmmakers. As guest lecturer in cinematography at several film institutes, he has helped hone the innate skills of many students aspiring to build their careers in cinematography. The launch of 24MM Film Academy gives wings to his long-cherished dream of founding a professional institute specialising in cinematography.

Filmography
ONE-YEAR CINEMATOGRAPHY COURSE
A comprehensive course covering basic to advanced cinematography techniques, where students can 'shadow the cinematographer’ in order to get hands-on training and gain
in-depth industry experience.
In addition to regular classroom sessions for in-depth learning, students will be taken to shooting locations to learn about different types of cameras, lenses, filters, professional lighting, shot composition, shot division, camera movement, camera rigs, lighting packages, and much more.
They will observe Sridhar through the entire pre-production process, his choice of cameras and lenses, and his visual narrative style. Specialised training will be provided on shot division – the most challenging process in cinematography.
Students will be taken to post-production (colour grading/timing) so that practical aspects of the entire script-to-screen process of cinematography is covered.
TWO-DAYS ARRI/RED & LIGHTING WORKSHOP
Intensive masterclass with ARRI/Red camera with different lighting conditions including:
● Introduction to Digital Cinematography
● Understanding the camera
● Exposure and focusing tools
● Practical lighting with Arri/Red camera
WEEKEND DIGITAL CINEMATOGRAPHY COURSE
Comprehensive end-to-end digital cinematography course with in-depth practical techniques and significant industry insights.
Designed for those looking to master digital cinematography, but cannot make it to the one-year intensive regular course.

We strongly recommend the one-year cinematography course for those who are serious about a career as a professional cinematographer.
What are the class timings for the one-year course?
Our regular class timings are from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays. Additionally, we conduct weekend sessions as required.
Which program do you recommend for working professionals?
Working professionals can take the Digital Cinematography course conducted on weekends.
Can you share the course fee breakdown for the one-year cinematography course?
The total course fees is Rs. 4,00,000/- payable in full on or before the time of admission. Of this, the amount payable upon registration is Rs 25,000/-).
